Zamakono Media plans big for teens

Despite suffering poor support from the youth during their first teens’ talent show at Motel Paradise, organisers of the Summer Holiday Talent show, Zamakono Media have said they have more for the youth in arts and shortly will launch a national teenagers’ talent competition.

Zamakono Media registered its name among organisers of teens’ events a fortnight ago but the event suffered a heavy blow from the youths. Very few made it to the show and other categories did not take place due to lack of contestants.

“We are not demoralised by the response we got at Motel Paradise. We have a long-term plan in youth activities and I am revealing to the nation that we are bouncing back with a national teen’s competition. We will launch it this year, but it will run next year,” said the firms operations and marketing manager Peter Mandoloma Bodole.

He also revealed that they have already sourced sponsors and the competition will start with regional phases—Blantyre, Mzuzu and Lilongwe will produce a team of artists in various categories to compete with others at the national level in dancing, singing and modeling and contestants in each region will compete for K250 000 (about $625).
